EAS-12

The future of tabletop standards

The EAS series is recommended for educational institutions such as high schools and universities.
It is intended for use by an unspecified number of students and features high safety features, including a footer interlock. Furthermore, it has been made simple with sterilization only, and easy operation has been achieved, such as the ability to open and close the lid in single motion.

Sterilization of educational institutions is rarely carried out in small quantities.
Using a large, floor-mounted autoclave for this purpose presents significant disadvantages in terms of operating time and power consumption.
This is the future standard tabletop model that offers everything you need: fast driving time, easy operation, and comprehensive safety features, all in a small space.

Ideal for small research laboratories

In laboratories with a large number of analytical instruments and equipment, the installation location is limited.
It can be placed in a small space on a table and is large enough for small-scale sterilization.

Reduced driving time due to its compact size

Being smaller means that the temperature rises and falls faster compared to being larger. Furthermore, it can reduce power consumption, leading to cost savings.
Furthermore, by incorporating a forced cooling fan as standard, cooling time has been reduced, resulting in an operating time that is more than 30% shorter than that of conventional models.

Suppresses unpleasant odor while driving

Vapors emitted during operation can cause unpleasant odors, such as those from culture media. The exhaust steam is cooled and drained using an air cooler and discharged into a tank, thereby reducing odor.

Advantages of vertical type

Liquid sterilization is essential for RIKEN equipment. A vertical model is small enough to sterilize liquids in flasks or vial bins.
Horizontal tabletop autoclaves do not hold flasks or vial bins.

Simple and easy operation

Opening and closing the footer is a one-handed operation (single motion) that simply involves sliding the lever. The lid can be opened and closed while holding the sample in one hand. Furthermore, by limiting the operation to sterilization, temperature and time setting operations are also easy.

Comprehensive safety measures

We will protect the safety of users.
It is equipped with a safety device that prevents the phthalock from being released until the temperature and pressure drop to a safe level after sterilization is complete.

Advantages of tabletop and vertical models

Solving the "lack of space" in the lab

The savior of labs, which tend to get cluttered with large equipment and devices.
A tabletop autoclave that can be installed in a small space can intelligently achieve the necessary sterilization and cleaning without compromising the convenience of the research environment.

Tabletop models are faster and cheaper

Driving a large autoclave just to sterilize a few test tubes or a small amount of chips is a waste of time and electricity.
Large floor-mounted autoclaves consume a lot of time and electricity for both heating and cooling.
For a little sterilization, a tabletop autoclave is the best option.
A small amount of sterilized material will significantly reduce the time from rise to completion. ( Over 30% shorter than the previous model)
It minimizes power consumption, reducing daily running costs and speeding up research at the same time.

Why "vertical"

A tabletop design ideal for limited laboratory space. However, the "horizontal" model common in the market has limitations that are often overlooked.
That's a lack of "height," which is essential for liquid sterilization.
Erlenmeyer flasks and vials containing culture media or reagents cannot be tilted.
The 500ml flask, which cannot be filled in the horizontal version, can be accommodated in the vertical version.
Liquid sterilization, which is essential for RIKEN's field, is performed in a "vertical" shape, saving space.

Enhanced safety features

Easy opening and closing operation and secure interlock

It locks securely with simple operation: tighten the foot and rotate the lever. A reassuring meter that will not operate if the rotation is insufficient. Furthermore, by limiting the operation to sterilization, temperature and time setting operations are also easy.

Temperature and pressure detection function protects against sudden boiling of liquids

An autoclave that creates a high-temperature, high-pressure environment of 100℃ or higher. In the unlikely event of a malfunction, there is a direct risk of serious accidents such as burns or explosions. The lock lever is securely fixed while driving, especially to prevent accidents among researchers and students who are unfamiliar with the operation.
The default temperature and pressure are reduced, and the lock cannot be released without pressing the release button. This triple measure prevents burns such as sudden boils.

An autoclave that handles high temperatures and pressures of 100℃ or higher.
In the unlikely event of a malfunction, there is a direct risk of serious accidents such as burns or explosions.
This is a must-do to prevent accidents not only among professionals who are familiar with the equipment's structure, but also among students who are new to the equipment or those who are not used to operating it.
We believe that this is a necessary condition for modern RIKEN equipment.
We will introduce comprehensive safety features to ensure reliable and safe use.

Footer interlock function

It can be safely locked with one hand with simple operation: tighten the foot and rotate the lever. A secure design that will not operate if rotation is insufficient. It stays securely in place while driving and prevents burns by not releasing the lock until the temperature and pressure drop.

Air-burning prevention device

If there is a water shortage, an alarm will sound and the system will automatically shut off.
This prevents overheating due to dry lighting and ensures the safety of the equipment and its users.

Pressure safety valve

It prevents the pressure from rising by allowing steam from inside the can to escape when the pressure rises to an abnormal level. This is a dual safety device that activates in the unlikely event that the electrical safety device malfunctions and the equipment goes out of control.

Temperature over-rising/over-pressure prevention device

An alarm will sound and heating will stop if the can temperature exceeds the set temperature and pressure while driving. This can easily occur if too much sterile material is packed into the container.

Sensor break detection

An alarm will sound and stop operation if the temperature sensor fails.
Instruments crucial for temperature control prevent equipment from running out of control.

Ground fault breaker

Senses a power leakage in the equipment and turns off the main power supply.
It activates in the event of a water leak or electrical component failure, preventing electric shock to the user.

Wire mesh basket

Do not place sterile materials directly into the can body. This not only causes malfunctions but also leads to serious accidents. Be sure to insert a wire mesh basket containing sterile materials.

Sterilizing waste materials such as used petri dishes can contaminate equipment by spilling molten liquid.

To prevent equipment failure due to this, you can store the liquid in the bottom of the wire mesh basket and take it in.
